The ensemble NeoBarock has arranged a “best-of” selection from Jean-Philippe Rameau’s three-hour ballet opera Les Indes galantes specifically for its instrumentation, aiming to introduce it to a young audience. Projected onto a large screen behind the musicians, Michael Sommer, creator of the video channel Sommer’s World Literature to go, brings the storyline of love and adventure to life using his Playmobil miniatures.
After the 50-minute performance, young listeners will have the chance to meet the musicians and take a closer look at the instruments.
Recommended for ages 9 and up.
Since its founding in 2003, NeoBarock has gained a reputation for captivating interpretations and musicologically informed concepts, establishing itself as an outstanding ensemble for extraordinary programs. Its concerts offer thrilling rediscoveries, reconstructions of lost works, and innovative perspectives on standard repertoire. With its Playmobil performance “The World in Love,” the Echo Award-winning ensemble has performed at prestigious events, including the International Handel Festival in Göttingen.
We are delighted about the cooperation with the Music School of the City of Aachen.
The chamber music hall in the music school is accessible without barriers via the rear entrance.
