Young and adult students from the Music School of the City of Aachen and guests

Hosted by Martin Hoffmann

In this concert, young and adult ensembles from the Aachen Municipal Music School and guests present the results of their intensive engagement with early music as part of the festival workshop. Under the expert guidance of their teachers and through intensive coaching by Ulrike Schaar (cello) and Martin Sandhoff (traverso and recorder), they have prepared solo and trio sonatas as well as larger ensemble works.

At “Let’s go baroque!”, the audience can experience baroque articulation and ornamentation, historically informed continuo playing, and transparent ensemble performance.

We are delighted about the cooperation with the Toni Jansen Foundation and the Sozialwerk Aachener Christen. Admission to this concert is free. Donations are welcome.

The church is accessible via guest house entrance.

Registration via e-mail is required:

Already during her studies, Ulrike Schaar began her concert career as a baroque cellist, performing both in Germany and abroad with renowned European ensembles specialising in historically informed performance. A particularly close and enduring artistic collaboration connects her with Concerto Köln. Concert tours with these ensembles have taken her across Europe’s major music festivals and concert halls, as well as to the United States, Japan, Korea, and South America. Her extensive discography – including numerous award-winning CD and DVD recordings, as well as radio broadcasts – bears witness to this rich concert activity.
