Trio tiefsaits is a young Berlin-based ensemble specializing in historical low string instruments such as the baroque cello, viola da gamba, and violoncello piccolo. Mirjam-Luise Münzel, Alma Stolte, and Anna Reisener devote themselves to a wide-ranging repertoire that extends from Renaissance consort music through High Baroque sonatas to the virtuosic music of the Romantic era. They explore the possibilities of low three-part ensemble sound and the versatile role of the cello across the centuries.
In 2024, their debut CD À Tre was released on the label DaVinci Records, featuring previously completely unknown cello trios by the composer Joseph Dall’Abaco. The ensemble is currently a recipient of the #Musikerzukunft scholarship from the Deutsche Orchesterstiftung. At the festival, they present the program A Tre with original 18th-century works for cello trio.
